Digital Resources from Livonia Public Schools
We are very fortunate to have a variety of resources provided by Livonia Public Schools to support our students' literacy.
Specifically, Livonia has purchased access to the PebbleGo databases for our elementary and upper elementary students. These are accessible through school and at home. Mrs. Comiez works with students using the Library Curriculum to teach these databases with first through fourth grade students. The username and password required for home use are sent home with the students. The State of Michigan provides free online databases through MeL.org to any resident in the state. Again, Mrs. Comiez works with the students using the curriculum to help them discover, navigate, and become familiar with the databases. Another excellent option is SORA through OverDrive. Livonia Public Library and Livonia Public Schools have teamed together to give our students access to eBooks through SORA. Using the Clever link though their LPS Google account, students can easily connect to these resources.
You might hear your child talk about reading Epic! online. During school hours, students are able to log in using a code provided by their teacher to access over 40,000 books. On snow days, this is a fun and helpful option to give your child a chance to read!
